☆ FAREWELL 2011

Farewell to a year of love and laughter. Farewell to a year of huge amounts of creating. Farewell to a year of illness and death. Farewell to a year of stress and worry. Farewell to a year of huge success, and incredible highs, and some pretty shitty lows. Farewell to new connections and to new family members.

But most of all farewell to the past, not to be remembered in sorrow, in despair or in shame, but to be remembered as a journey to a brighter future

I can't wait to take all I have learnt from 2011 and move forward, to make the next step in my journey and to remember to always immerse myself, in whatever I choose.

See you in the new year - have a great night.

☆ Mysterious [Illustration Friday]

Normally with IF prompts, I have an image in mind immediately or I spend hours pondering certain scenarios. Often I will look the prompt up in an online dictionary, thesaurus or search for quotes.

Today, I pondered the prompt for a few minutes, and then decided I couldn't be arsed with my ritual, picked up my pad and sketched while thinking of the prompt.

And this is the result

I am not sure how mysterious she is, but I am sure she's keeping a secret!

What do you think?

☆ Mystical Magical Makings

For Christmas, my gorgeous husband gave me a spot on the talented Tam from Willowing, Mystical Magical Makings course.

I have previously completed her free course - Art, Heart and Healing (which you can still join!) and I loved it so much. Tam has a fantastic teaching style, and the willowing network is a safe and nurturing place to explore your creative side - even for those who have never drawn before!!

The first two weeks of the course is about Goddesses - one who inspires you, one who speaks to you, or one who you have created yourself.

Mine is the goddess of intuition and empathy, she speaks to me on a very elemental level, she's being a bit coy with her name - I will tease it out of her yet!

She still needs finishing, I am hoping to get into my studio sometime over the next few days, but with Australia Day yesterday, and some of the hottest temps this summer, I have struggled to move more than 5 inches from the air conditioner!!

☆ Illustration Friday

'Star Light
Star Bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may
I wish I might
I wish I have my wish tonight...'

I am not sure of where this rhyme came from but I remember saying this as a child whenever I saw the evening star. Actually thinking about it I still say this rhyme when I see the evening star!!

This is my entry for this weeks topic on Illustration Friday - 'star gazing'

'Star Light, Star Bright' - water colours paint & pencils, gel metallic pens
