☆ Scuba Boy [Friday Art]

Week 48: November 2014

A few weeks ago I shared with you a painting that I was doing for my nephew Fred.

I love making presents to give to my family at Christmas time. There is something so special about making something for your loved ones, knowing that they will love it.

I am pretty sure Fred will love this.

Yet, it feels like forever that I was able sit at my desk to paint. It has been a busy couple of weeks. And I haven't had a chance to finish it off.

Luckily over the weekend past, I had few hours in the studio + managed to finish off Scuba Boy and I am really happy with how it turned out.

All that is left to do is find a frame + wrap it up.

And a hope that he likes it!!

Are you making presents for your loved ones this year? I would love to hear what creative presents you are giving!

☆ Whimsical Wizard {Life Book 2014}

Week 44 - Whimsical Wizard with Steven Speight

I wasn't sure when I first saw this lesson, how it would turn out.

I don't often paint boys, I mainly do them for clients, and I enjoy painting them, but they don't seem to appear naturally like my girls do...

So this weeks lesson by the amazingly talented Steven Speight, was a magical, whimsical wizard.

And I loved painting my boy!

There was such a wealth of techniques that Steven shared. The clouds were done with a template, as were the back ground details of the city.

And even though my wizards face is a little more feminine than I would have preferred I adore my wizard + am thinking of a few nephews who could do with their own wizards!!

Have a great week.

☆ Inspired Sketches [Friday Art]

 Week 47: November 2014

It has been ages since I have been able to sit down and just sketch to my hearts content.

It feels like forever, but last weekend at the markets, with out Mac + the kids around it was like the flood gates opened.

Because sometimes I sit down to sketch + I've got nothing.

Sometimes I have several ugly sketches + may be one good one.

On Sunday it feels like I have 10 new paintings to paint...

Before I share them with you + while you're looking them over maybe you can tell me which one is your favourite, which one you would like to see in paint...

What do you think? Which one would you love to see painted?? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great weekend.

☆ Unique Stocking Stuffers {LilliBean Designs Spotlight}

I was so lucky to meet + talk to some amazing people at the Bathurst Markets.

People we so lovely + had some awesome things to say about my art (some of which made me tear up a little because they were so lovely! I am such a sap!)

Some one mentioned to me how great my calendars, journals + jewellery are for stocking fillers + unique Christmas Gifts.

So I thought before I head off to the next markets (next Saturday for those in the Cowra region) I would share some of the items in store with you.

My calendar is an awesome way to enjoy my art on a daily basis.

They sold out with in a few days,  but I placed another order which is now listed in the LilliBean Designs Store.

AU$20 each + postage (Free for local delivery, $5 for Australian purchases + $15 every where else.)

Click here for more.

I have a small selection of these hand painted notebooks left - they have proved to be so popular with the market crowd!

They are blank inside so they can be used for sketching, writing your dreams, poetry, grocery lists or to do lists. There are no limits to the uses of these notebooks.

And with christmas around the corner, unique stocking fillers!

$20 each + postage - click here to see the selection available.

Another popular addition to the LilliBean Designs Store are these small hanging wall plaques.

I have been told that they look awesome on door handles, on fridges + of course the wall.

Only $20 (+ postage) you can see the complete range of plaques + canvases here

Over the coming week I will be adding my new wearable art range (rings, earrings, compact mirrors, necklaces + hair clips.)

To make sure you don't miss out you can favourite my etsy store (which will show you updates in your dash board) or check out the LilliBean Designs Facebook page where I will be posting updates.

☆ Celebrate Love [Life Book]

Week 43 - Choose Joy with Christy Tomlinson

Christy Tomlinson's lesson was another synchronistic one for me at a time - a beautiful lesson, with several different elements + a very important message.

And a reminder to myself - to chose love. To celebrate the love I have in my life.

And at the end of the lesson I had this image to remind me.

What will you celebrate this week. Feel free to share with the rest of us.

☆ A Quick Post [Friday Art]

Week 46: 14th November 2014

I only have a few moments to post today.

I have the first of my Christmas Markets tomorrow + I am packaging up the earrings + charms + hair clips that I have been making this week. (I am so happy with how they turned out in the end too! Check out Instagram for the before + after pics!)

Anyway, while I was waiting for the resin to dry I dragged these notebooks out from the cupboard + decided to decorate them.

I bought them thinking they would be similar to these ones but they weren't and they had this annoying inspirational sticker on them that was in Chinese... well since I don't know any asian languages I assume it's Chinese...

So I decided to use my trusty Withering Heights book for inspiration....

And ripped out a few more pages from it + covered up the sticker.

These are the three I have done this week, which will be for sale this weekend at the markets.

And if your in the Bathurst area the Christmas markets are this weekend (nov 15th + 16th) I hope you will pop in + say hi.

And if you bring this voucher with you, you can receive 10% off everything in store.

You can download it by clicking on the voucher above or here.

The voucher is valid at all the markets I am attending for the rest of the year:

Until the end of the year you can find me:

Have an awesome weekend.

"DO TOMORROW DIFFERENTLY..."

Happy November!

It's about this time of year that I start reflecting; thinking over the days, weeks, months of 2014. And I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what's worked, what I loved + what I hated and when I felt blah.

For example the morning school routine drives me freaking nuts. Seriously
        pulling my hair, screeching bon
kers.

         I hate it.

         I. HATE. IT.  (like seriously)

Because it brings out the worst in me.

Because it is the same shit just on a different day.

Because despite being proactive and trying different things to ease the trauma,
by the time I have walked home from the bus stop, I am a sweaty seething mess.

Anyway, with all this reflection + wondering, I realised that next year I will be turning forty. The BIG 4.0.

Yikes.

And I used to think, when I was wise + worldly twenty-one year old that forty was like sooooo old.

However before you start emailing me that life is awesome after 40, let me tell you I couldn't agree more. I can’t wait to start the next 40 years, move into the next phase of my life. (Although thinking about it, I would happily skip the menopause years thank you very much!)

BUT what I don’t want to do is spend the next 40 years dragging the same tattered + out dated baggage behind me. I have had enough of it and it doesn’t really suit me anymore. It is time to leave the past in the past.

So I have started this thing that I’ve called project awesome. (Yes – hands up I am totally aware of how corny my projects title is)

I am reflecting on my baggage, my home, my biz, my family life, my money, my relationships…. Everything. And noted what works + what doesn’t, what I love + what I hate, what I want to feel + what I don’t.

And what I have realized is this:

I want to be surrounded by beauty (beautiful smiles, beautiful love, and beautiful environments. Not just stuff), feel deep connections with Mac, the terrible trio, my best friends + family, I want to feel more bliss moments, (moments of joy + wild happiness), to be more wild + free generally (spontaneous, less cant’s and more cans), and I want each day to balance (spiritually, emotionally and even financially)

 This is what I want.

And even though I am implementing this change because of a significant birthday next year, it doesn’t mean that you can’t start doing things differently, it doesn’t mean you can’t thinking about how you want to feel in your day. It doesn’t mean you can’t start changing some of the small things that irritate you.

And if today sucks, like my morning sucked, tomorrow do something different…. Now I'm off to go figure out what exactly this is!
XX

By the way, if you want to join me in my project awesome year, I would love to hear how your year will be awesome! Let me know!
