☆ Embrace your Fear [Friday Art]

I started this painting last weekend. It is another journal page, (I am having so much fun playing in my journal at the moment!!) one that started with one set of feelings + emotions, but by the time I managed to drag my sorry sick self back into the studio, it became something else.

My sister is due to have her second baby, and true to form, baby 'Rosie' (as Bean christened the baby) is running late.

So I was remembering those last days before the Wee Beastie arrived, how I would chant to myself in the shower 'Release' over + over, trying to let go of the fear, the worry + the control, and I was thinking about my sister, and where she would be in her head, ready to meet her baby, a bit worried about the upcoming labour, and all those hormones running amok, and this is where my journal page ended up...

'Some times when you Embrace your fear, something beautiful will grow'

So a deepish question for you this week. When did you last embrace your fear + did something beautiful grow from it? As usual I would love to hear your story!

Have a fabulous weekend.

  11. I love the concept behind this one and she is stunning as always! You've got me thinking now - I think I'll be embracing my fear later this year when I fly to London, then Dallas, then Florida for a friend's wedding - I've developed a late onset fear of flying and on the return journey I'll be alone as my sister is staying on in America to visit someone else so that might involve me embracing some fear especially as I then have to travel across London from Heathrow to Gatwick to fly back to Scotland - I get butterflies just thinking about it and yet when I was in my 20s I was such a carefree traveller up for any adventure who thrived on new places!!

  15. So sweet. Congrats to your sister and the whole family! Sometimes my hesitancy...the fear itself...is an indication of just how badly I want to do something. Pushing through and facing that fear is so empowering.

  17. Love the emotion in her, and the flowing hair and those flowers around her. I'm still working on embracing and overcoming my fear, but I hope I'll get there soon and something beautiful will come out of it.
