Week 11 - Tree of Life Bonus Lesson with Tam and Gracie

This week was all about celebrating our life connections. Connections with people, things, books. All the positive connections that we have.

And it turns out that I have a lot of positive connections.

Not only with my family, friends + acquaintances, but also with the things I surround myself with, music, books, art, the environment etc.

So this is my tree of life, and the stars are a representation of my positive connections.

Week 10 - Positive Life Connections: Paint Over Collage with Tam

So after Jane Davenport's pop up positives lesson, where I found it incredibly hard to find some positive qualities, I have been in a more positive frame of mind lately.

I have stopped (for now anyway) taking on other peoples shit as my own.

I feel like I have slowly been sucked me dry.

So while I can't in some instances + don't want to in others, stop seeing these people, I have to realise that their shit is their own story + I don't have to read it.

So after these amazing insights, into why I am feeling a bit down lately, I started Tams awesome lesson, which I worked on my positive life connections.

Recognising these, has also helped in moving on beyond the negativity surrounding me.

This is what I started with, a face, a hand + some scraps out of my paper draw, covered in clear gesso, I then painted over it.

This is where it ended up. And I love it.

My positive connection statement is

"your light is shinning on these stars + they reflect your unconditional heart"

And I love that!

If you had an angel of gratitude, what would she tell you right now?

A friend + I were talking one day about how hard it was being a mama, and how sometimes, as much as we loved being at home with the kids, working away from home was very appealing.

And when we talked about it some more, we decided it wasn't because we had a burning desire to go back to work.

It was because, at work, you have constant feed back - you know if you are doing a good job, you know if you are doing a crappy job, you know if something you did today was awesome because there are people at work who would tell you.

Sometimes you just need feed back, good or bad, as loving human beings we need positive messages for our self growth.

And when you work from home, for your self, are a full time carer, or are a mama raising children, you don't necessarily know if you are doing a good job. 

And so, this is for you.

Maybe you are having a really tough time at the moment, and just need to remind yourself you are awesome + it will be ok.

Maybe you need to remember why a particular goal was so important to you, like loosing weight, or creating every day.

And so, this is for you.

Some times you need your very own angel to give you positive messages of support + loving.

☆ LIFE BOOK 2013

I am a bit slow off the rank this year in the Life Book 2013 course. 

Most students are up to week 5, while I am half way through week 2. But I am ok with that this year. Last year I had little panic attacks when I missed a week. This year I am letting go a wee bit.

I knew I would be late starting this year. I had decided to keep all my work in one journal, and after a lot of research I decided on using a Dylusions Journal and I had to wait for it to arrive from the UK. [I just LOVE shiny new journals!]

Of course the other reason for starting late, was that our wee Beastie was due at the beginning of the year, so I knew that her arrival would mean some time away from the studio.

I managed a little more studio time this week, so I cracked open my journal (it is awesome to play in by the way!) + was able finished my first lesson.

This is my fairy art mother, who nurtures me + I hope will help me kick my little bitch to the kerb, when she rears her ugly head to make me doubt myself. I painted her on the front cover, so I see her every time I work in my journal + in theory she will buoy me before I even start working in the book.

I will be adding to her as the year passes, as I need different positive messages, so I will share her with you when I finish up the years lessons.
