Last week I shared with you a work in progress that I had started in my sketch book. A yellow- eyed mermaid.
(I seem to be fascinated by yellow eyes. They seem so piecing to me.)
Using acrylics, water colours, water soluble wax pastels, water colour crayons, ink + pencils, she is finally finished.
And it felt great to just let go, and to spend some time contemplating her and what I actually felt like using. It feels good to let go and play - which is really the whole point of my sketchbook.
I just forget that sometimes.
Have you played lately? Or have you, like me, been walking a set path + been caught up in your 'way' of doing things? I would love to hear your stories.
She is gorgeous! Love those beads! I haven't been playing lately, because I'm really short in time. And when I don't have much time I tend to do things like I always do, because it's just easier and faster. But it doesn't bring as much joy, I'll admit that ...
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! It is totally easier to just do what is comfortable (and fast!). I always so to myself 'ok this thursday I will just play' but then it seems like work doesn't it!! Thanks for popping in x
DeleteShe is really gorgeous. What a great work. I admire your creativity. Very beautiful and lovely.
