☆ Rocking Horse [inspiration avenue]

©2012 Kirstin McCulloch

This weeks inspiration avenue was rocking horse.

Such a fun prompt, invoking memories from childhood.

I never had a rocking horse, but we had a rocking rabbit that my grandfather built for us.

(It was alway very handy having a carpenter for a grandpa!)

Have a great weekend.

P.S. My second give away of the year begins this Tuesday, so make sure you pop on by for a chance to win an original painting!

  1. A rocking rabbit is just as sweet as a rocking horse. I actually have a one too, but mine is ceramic and was not made by a talented grandfather. I also don't have a rocking unicorn, like the beautiful image you have drawn and painted. This is so adorable. Thanks so much for joining the challenge this week. It's a beautiful entry.

  2. This is adorable. I always wanted a rocking horse too. I love her beautiful expression, she looks sad. Unicorn looks a bit cross. He's probably wondering why she's just sitting there when he wants to rock and adventure!

  5. I didn't have a rocking horse or any other rocking creature for that matter. I would have loved a rocking unicorn. Your painting is beautiful!

  6. Your girl's eyes are so soulful, and her unicorn rocker is lovely. A rocking rabbit sounds so very fun, did you hold onto his ears to rock, or did he have long ears? Nice to meet you via I.A. :-D

    1. Nice to meet you too! Our rocking rabbit had a bench seat (you could fit two very small people in it) and you could hold onto the ears to rock but there was also a metal bar to hold. We played with it all the time and now my girls play with it every time we visit my mum! Thanks for stopping by x
