☆ The Tiger Tamer [a new painting

A friend asked me recently how I come up with the ideas I for my paintings, and I had to say, that some times they just pop into my head.

This painting, was one of those ideas that just popped into my head, albeit it was at 3 o'clock in the morning while I was feeding the wee beastie, and I had to scribble down some stick figure in the dark, that was all jumbled and if any one looked at it the next day, they would see something that a two year old could draw better....

But the only thing that mattered was that when I looked at it in the morning, I remembered the inspiration behind the scribble.

And so The Tiger Tamer was born...

I hope you all have a great weekend. I have cleaning out kitchens + the garage (oh joy!) on the schedule, but I am sure I could be persauded to do something else... anything else.... I would love any suggestions for procrastination!

    Oh she is sooo sweet!! I love it!! And the luscious color is a great bonus!! Creative ideas are fleeting if you don't capture them immediately. I have pulled the car over to write a poem years ago....not wanting to lose it!!
    She is beautiful! The perks of feeding babies in the middle of the night!! lol there has to be something to keep you sane!!

    Lovely ! great colors -grey seems to be on everyones palette this week - i might have to pull out the liquid graphite !

    Wow..so beautiful..powerful...what a strong piece..expressive..and the bold sense of patterns.. and visual drama it brings to the piece is stunning! Love it!

    She is adorable - I love her hair! The tiger is pretty gorgeous too - looks more like he has the temperament of a kitten with those big sad eyes!

      Janice - the procrastination won out! such a miserable weekend here, but my studio is nice and tidy now! Much more fun than the kitchen or garage! x

      Thanks Paula - I have seen some other artists do this, and I loved being able to have a sense of dimension + environment. inches + centimetres don't really translate for me!

    This is so wonderful! I love that it came to you while not even doing art, but your mind is always creating. I love tigers anyway, and my first original oil painting was of a tiger and the Taj Mahal out in a desert, which came to me during sleep.

    I am stunned by the loveliness of the painting....ITS O.S.U.Mly cute!!! Love the eyes of the girl and the tiger...amazing colors and lines.Great title too :) You could weave a story around it.
